Warehouse and Inventory Control Assistant

DB Acoustics has been providing these sorts of solutions since 1986.  We are a small business headquartered in Marion, Iowa and we are seeking a warehouse and inventory control assistant to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

DB Acoustics is seeking an individual to monitor and maintain multiple categories of inventory:

  • Small parts / bench stock
  • Rigging trailer materials
  • Service vans stock and tools
  • Cable and wire
  • Shared Tools
  • Shared Electronic Tools and Test Equipment
  • Spare equipment
  • Temporary/loaner equipment
  • Office equipment
  • Inventory assigned to specific upcoming jobs

This team member will also:

  • recommend improvement to warehouse space and organization
  • develop checklists, visual inventory controls and related materials for use by all team members
  • assist in optimizing space and creating processes and procedures
  • use various software and tools to track, manage and report on activities
  • train other staff members on processes and ensure all are following, monitor/escalate/retrain as required
  • occasionally assist team members on job sites 
  • follow established company processes

This role will work closely with 

  • DB office and ordering personnel to strike balance of adequate materials on hand with least cost to maintain appropriate levels of inventory
  • DB technical staff (project admin, service coordinator, etc) to keep up with what is required by technicians as “bench/van stock” and “specific project” stock

Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  1. Two to four years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  2. Proficient in use of software such as Excel, Google Sheets and similar 
  3. Have a willingness and aptitude to learn
  4. Able to juggle multiple tasks of work each day in a fast paced and ever evolving environment
  5. Must be able to occasionally work from step ladders, scaffolding or lifts
  6. Ability to walk/stand for long periods and lift/carry/pull/push up to 50 pounds
  7. Able to communicate effectively and deal diplomatically with team members
  8. Able to work independently, prioritize and manage numerous projects, and be innovative and creative 
  9. Have a positive, team oriented, high energy, can-do attitude
  10. Have a willingness and aptitude to learn

Work Location and Hours

This role requires the employee to be present in our Marion office.  This role could be tailored to be either full or part time.  

  • Full time work hours are 7-4, 8-5, OR 9-6, but some flexibility can be arranged to accommodate work/life balance.  
  • Part time work hours (20-30 hours per week) are an option if that is the preference of the employee. These hours would have to be planned on a consistent schedule during the core 7-6 window.

After a 90 day introductory period, full time employees will be eligible for company paid benefits including paid time-off, life insurance, medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage. 401k will be made available after 6 months of employment.
After a 90 day introductory period, part time employees will be eligible for paid time off on a prorated basis.  Remaining benefits could be offered on a cost shared basis.
