DB Acoustics has been providing these sorts of solutions since 1986. We are a small business headquartered in Marion, Iowa and we are seeking multiple technician apprentices to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
DB Acoustics is seeking multiple Audio/Video Technicians to install and service professional audio/video/conference/network systems in retail locations, churches/ houses of worship, educational and corporate environments. Several levels of technician roles are possible, and positions will be achieved based on competency and experience. These levels also detail one expected career path at DB Acoustics.

Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Within the first 90 days, we will evaluate proficiency in these areas and the areas detailed in technical levels:
- Identify and correctly handle of a variety of audio/video/network equipment
- Identify and operate various hand tools and test equipment
- Assemble and test a variety of cables
- Take and record readings during troubleshooting or installation
- Follow step-by-step written or verbal instructions
- Service, install, test and troubleshoot audio, video, conferencing and network equipment and systems
- Assist in pulling wire and cables
- Assist in troubleshooting
- Assist with loading service vans; job site set up, take down and clean up
- Occasionally assist with tasks at DB office and warehouse
Requirements
- Able to juggle multiple tasks of work each day in a fast paced and ever evolving environment
- Have both willingness and aptitude to learn and retain information
- Be willing to ask questions and give/take feedback
- Able to communicate effectively and deal diplomatically with team members
- Able to maintain a level of professionalism dealing with customers and team members in a variety of settings: churches, schools, retail, corporate and private residences
- Able to work on assigned tasks independently
- Have a positive, team oriented, high energy, can-do attitude
- Must be able to occasionally work from step ladders, scaffolding or lifts
- Ability to walk/stand for long periods and lift/carry/pull/push up to 50 pounds
- Able to manage multiple projects and details at any given time
- Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Work Location and Hours
This role requires the employee to be present in our Marion office or on assigned job sites in Cedar Rapids and at various locations in Iowa. Occasional overnight travel to job locations will be required.
This role could be tailored to be either full or part time.
- Full time work hours are 730-4
- Part time work hours (20-30 hours per week) are an option if that is the preference of the employee. These hours would have to occur during the normal 730-4 timeframe.
Employee Benefits
After a 90 day introductory period, full time employees will be eligible for company paid benefits including paid time-off, life insurance, medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage. 401k will be made available after 6 months of employment.
After a 90 day introductory period, part time employees will be eligible for paid time off on a prorated basis. Remaining benefits could be offered on a cost shared basis.
